One of the hallmarks of our school is our strong extra-curricular offerings, in particular our Rugby League program. Over our 65-year history, NRSHS has excelled in Rugby League, with many of our teams achieving success in local competitions and several alumni moving on to NRL, QLD Maroons and Australian Kangaroos representation. Our Girls Rugby League program, in particular, has recently experienced great success at district, regional and state levels through inter-school competitions and the coveted Karyn Murphy Cup. This success can be attributed to the determination and enthusiasm of our students and the committed and professional coaching staff who support them.
Our ambition is to develop a School of Excellence in Rugby League where all students, boys and girls, can achieve their potential. In order to reach this goal and continue the success of our Rugby League program, we are calling on local businesses to join us in providing opportunities for young people in Rockhampton.
